The one request the followers of Jesus had was “Lord, teach us to pray…” Luke 11:1
The disciples could have asked to learn how to preach, heal, cast out demons, but they recognized something about Jesus and His power, His calm spirit and incredible courage, His love for the outcasts and the innumerable miracles. They connected the dots to the source which is prayer.
Prayer is our main connection with our heavenly Father as well as our power source for a victorious life; a Spirit filled life; one of power, influence and filled with testimonies of God’s faithfulness through the good and challenging times.
With that being said, Arise International Church is inviting the body of Christ to daily prayer
Jeremiah 29:12 tells us “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart”.
DL Moody said, “Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure.”
What we’re trying to accomplish:
1. To establish a foundation of prayer for all believers to join and connect.
2. To ignite a passion within the hearts of believers for prayer so that yielded hearts of obedience will witness God move among us as He did with the disciples in the book of Acts.
How:
- We are called to pray for one another, as well as for our communities. Like the watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem in the Old Testament. The watchmen stood upon the walls of the city watching both inside and outside and sounding an alarm of any danger. Being a Watchmen today means being alert and praying for God to intervene in people’s lives. He / She realized the importance of praying for others, while seeking God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven…
Specific, daily areas of prayer:
1. That God would raise up intercessors to join us in praying for an awakening of God’s presence and will.
2. That the lost in our communities (including family members) would be saved.
3. That God’s Word would be proclaimed inside and outside the church walls, & that His Gospel will be preached with clarity and boldness.
4. That signs and wonders would follow each believer, both inside and outside the church.
5. That the “gifts of the Spirit”, and the “fruit of the Spirit” to work hand in hand
To this point and pursuant to God’s direction,
Arise International Church is inviting the body of Christ to join our “Call to Prayer”, or C2P by committing to pray over at least 2 or more of these 5 areas daily for the next 6 months thru Easter (March 27th, 2016) and watch how God will radically transform your life and the lives of those you pray for.
