Numbers 13 records the event when Moses sent 12 spies to look at the promised land. This is approximately 1 year after leaving Egypt. The people were not necessarily holy or attained a certain spiritual status but God commanded Moses to take the first step; Spy out the land. Look at what belongs to you and have faith in the faithful One who promised it to you.
Wait, you mean I don’t have to be “good enough” to enter into God’s promises? NO, it’s never really about what we’ve attained. It’s just a matter of faith. Look at all of the recipients of Jesus’ miracles. Which of them attained anything worth a touch from the Master? None, they only had faith to believe that God wants to bless, heal and deliver
The same God who brought the 10 plagues, parted the red sea, rained manna from heaven and brought water from The Rock has proven Himself faithful with the children of Israel. This same God who in Christ gave His life, rained grace and washes us with the Water of the Word is just as faithful. He doesn’t change.
Let’s put our faith in Him today and call upon the God of heaven in faith believing that we can live a life free from the weight of sin, with a clear conscience and victorious regardless of how big the giants look in the land. God will bring us victory if we look to Him and not see ourselves as grasshoppers, but as children of God.
We were not designed to wander aimlessly in the wilderness, we’re designed to live by faith obtaining the promises of God.
